Robyn Lyn Evans is from Ceredigion in mid Wales and is a postgraduate of the Royal College of Music, a graduate of Trinity College Carmarthen, and a recipient of the Stuart Burrows Bursary. His singing career started in the Eisteddfod competitions of Wales with highlights including the National Eisteddfod of Wales scholarship, International Young Singer of the Year at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod, Osborne Roberts Memorial Prize, and Lampeter Eisteddfod Blue Riband.
Among his most recent highlights are Lord Cecil and Roberto Roberto Devereux (Welsh National Opera); Canio Pagliacci, Luigi Il tabarro, Macduff Macbeth, Rodolfo La bohème, Lensky Eugene Onegin (Mid Wales Opera); Pinkerton Madama Butterfly, Ruggero La rondine (West Green House Opera); Duke of Mantua Rigoletto, Cavaradossi Tosca (Diva Opera).
His other operatic roles include Rodolfo La bohème (English National Opera, English Touring Opera, Opera Project, Diva Opera); Don José Carmen, Alfredo La traviata, Macduff Macbeth (Scottish Opera); Ismaele Nabucco, Lord Hervey Anna Bolena (Welsh National Opera); Malcolm Macbeth (Opera North); Don Ottavio Don Giovanni (English Touring Opera); Pinkerton Madama Butterfly (Royal Albert Hall); Duke of Mantua Rigoletto (Opera Project, Longborough Festival Opera); and Rinuccio Gianni Schicchi and Fenton Falstaff (Opera Project). He has also performed Gérald Lakmé, Prince Rusalka, Ernesto Don Pasquale, and Ferrando Così fan tutte.
He has covered roles including Alfredo La traviata (English National Opera); Henri Les vêpres siciliennes, Duke of Mantua Rigoletto, Leicester Maria Stuarda (Welsh National Opera); Tebaldo I Capuleti e i Montecchi (Opera North); and Daniéli Les vêpres siciliennes (Royal Ballet & Opera).
Robyn is frequently heard on the concert platform, appearing at venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Philharmonic Hall Liverpool, Usher Hall Edinburgh and St David’s Hall Cardiff, and as a guest soloist with choirs in the UK and Europe.
He is also in demand on radio and television, both as a performer and as a vocal commentator for BBC Cymru Television and BBC Radio Cymru. He has released two solo albums: ROBYN LYN…tenor and Robyn Lyn Evans Tenor Ah! mes amis.

“Robyn Lyn Evans and Mary McCabe were both terrific in the roles of Rodolfo and Mimì and the chemistry between them was palpable. Evans portrayed Rodolfo as a dashing, likeable character. He engaged in horseplay and banter with his fellow bohemians, enjoyed moments of enraptured tenderness with Mimì and was overwrought with guilt and grief in the final two acts. He brought a rich warmth and lyricism to the vocal line. ‘Che gelida manina’ was a gleaming, rapturous tour de force which brought the house down.”
