Following English National Opera’s season announcement for 2023/24…

Ronald Samm returns as Reverend Horace Adams in David Alden’s acclaimed production of Peter Grimes, conducted by Martyn Brabbins.

Llio Evans returns in the role of Celia in this first revival of Cal McCrystal’s sell-out production of Iolanthe, she is joined by Keel Watson as Private Willis and Timothy Nelson understudies the the role of Strephon. These performances are conducted by Chris Hopkins.

Gweneth Ann Rand returns to ENO as the Mayor’s Wife in David Alden’s Olivier Award-winning staging of Jenůfa, she is joined by Keel Watson as the Mayor, conducted by Keri-Lynn Wilson.

Llio Evans sings Y Fon Hon on this recording of 2117 / Hedd Wyn by Stephen McNeff and Gruff Rhys, commissioned by Welsh National Opera.

This Welsh-language opera is set in 2117, 200 years after the death, in the First World War trenches, of iconic Welsh bard Hedd Wyn. Following a nuclear disaster the drama instils a dystopian future with Welsh mythology and Hedd Wyn’s own verse.

We are delighted to welcome Welsh  soprano Llio Evans to out roster for worldwis representation. Llio gained a first class honours degree at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama before going on to study with Dennis O’Neill at the Wales International Academy of Voice.

Future engagements include her English National Opera debut as Celia in Iolanthe, Janaček Danube Symphony with BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and a revival of her critically acclaimed production of The Golden Dragon with Music Theatre Wales.
